When is TXST hosting a presidential debate?
Monday, September 16, 2024. All debates will start at 8 p.m. CT / 9 p.m. ET and will run for 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) without commercial interruption.

Where will it be held?
The debate will be held on the San Marcos Campus in the Strahan Arena at the University Event Center. The university is partnering with the City of San Marcos to host the debate.

What is the Commission on Presidential Debates?
The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) is the nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)3 organization that has sponsored and produced all general election presidential debates since 1987. For more information about debate site selection or debate formats, visit the CPD’s website, debates.org.

How can I get tickets?
The presidential debates are primarily television productions with limited numbers of audience seats available. Distribution of tickets is handled entirely by the Commission on Presidential Debates, and no tickets are sold to the public.
